Team Effort Inspires Success At All Levels - Nand Kishore Chaudhary

“If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself.”  – Henry Ford. India recently made history when its first mission to Mars successfully entered the red planet’s orbit. It is an achievement that is a source of immense pride for India and her people. It is a significant milestone in the history of this developing nation. Even superpowers on the globe like the U.S. and Russia were not able to land on Mars during their first attempts with high investments on the project.
Many detractors said it could not be done. Not only did India persevere where others failed (23 out of 41 Mars missions have been unsuccessful), the country was able to reach the planet at a much lower cost than competitors.
The Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) team proved everyone wrong. “Team” is the key word here because a group of people working together toward the same goal is what made this historically significant event possible. “… there was teamwork. There was meticulous planning in building the spacecraft,” said V. Kesava Raju, the Indian Space Research Organization’s mission director for MOM.
I can relate to the joy – of course, on a smaller scale –  that the MOM team is feeling right now. Producing my first carpet gave me such happiness and a real sense of accomplishment. But there were many who thought my goal of working with local artisans to create hand-made rugs was a foolish idea.
This was my dream and I was not going to let it fade away. Hard work and perseverance proved my detractors wrong, just as those critics of India who said the MOM mission was not possible have been quieted.
However, I alone cannot take credit for my success. A concerted team effort by various people led to the fulfillment of my lifelong dream. The collective effort of my artisans and weavers who work so hard to create beautiful hand-made carpets is how I define success.
Of course, there will always be differences and disagreements when a diverse group of people works together. But out of this controlled chaos emerges a stronger team that becomes more dedicated to the mission at hand – whether that mission is going to another planet or simply working to level the playing field for the underprivileged.

India has made a great impact by its MOM. Team work can surely take an organisation to places. “A stronger team rises by controlled chaos”- very well said!
