Let us Put Humanity Back into Business

The corporate world and social enterprises often seem to be at odds with one another. Business is seen as having a laser focus only on profits, while social groups are viewed as caring only for the downtrodden without any thought of economic progress.
What is often not realized by the two seemingly opposite camps is that working together and understanding one another is the best option for each side. This mutual awareness is something that American businessman and philanthropist Paul Tudor Jones II is trying to encourage.

Trust and Nurture Employees and Then Watch Them Flourish

Treating employees well and understanding their basic needs have always been top priorities for me. I am aware that the employees of my company are human beings and should be treated as such. In fact, I consider all of my workers as part of my family.
I know I am not alone. These days, many organizations are realizing that treating employees well is beneficial for everyone. Not only are workers more productive, but they are happier and more likely to stay with your organization if they are respected.

I think that honesty is one of the most important characteristics. But it is a value that is often abused, especially in the corporate world. My belief is that one cannot do business without honesty. If there is not fairness in business then it is nothing more than cheating – and that is not business. An organization cannot exist without integrity. This also applies to employees. The most honest and sincere people should be the ones who are hired by organizations. Honest employees are the backbone of an honest business.

Such events should remind those of us who have proper food and shelter how lucky and blessed we are. This earthquake and other similar destructive occurrences should also make us all realize how precious life is. We normally go about our day performing our normal daily routine without a care or thought. It is almost as if we are robots working in a mechanical fashion.
